The Red Room
The Red Room provides care for children aged 1.5 years to 2.5 years, with diligent supervision and many opportunities for learning and interaction. The age ratios are also consistently well-maintained to ensure that the learning environment is progressive and appropriate for all children.
The Red Room facilitates a range of activities and shares a large outdoor play space with the Orange and Blue Room, which gives children an opportunity to explore various kinds of play, including slides, bikes, see-saws, and group games with other children.
All of these activities are highly encouraged for children aged 1.5 years to 2.5 years, as they facilitate the development of a variety of crucial skills. By giving children the opportunity to interact with others in a trusted and safe environment, they will build their social skills and ability to communicate. Having access to physical activities, such as dancing, riding bikes, sliding, balancing, climbing and using different learning spaces in the playgrounds, encourages the development of their fine and gross motor skills and allows them to explore the environment around them through their sense of touch.
My name is Astha and I have the pleasure of being the Red Room Team Leader.
Born and brought up in Nepal, I moved to Australia in 2013 to follow my Australian dream.
I always enjoyed being around children and felt happy being around them. This sparked my interest in early childhood education and therefore I decided to take early childhood as my career path. I enjoy every day I have with the children and firmly believe that they are all unique and special in their own incredible ways. I believe that a program should be based on a child’s interests, all the while introducing new knowledge for them to consider. My work approach involves encouraging the children to take risks (the good sort!) and developing their emerging autonomy by using problem solving and self-help skills.
I provide a flexible and calm learning environment, taking lead from the children when appropriate. I have a warm and approachable personality, which often puts both children and families at ease. My favourite part of coming to the centre each day is seeing the children grow as individuals while they learn and have fun. I strongly agree with the fundamentals of reflective practice, and so I continuously seek ways to improve as an educator.
We come to red room just with one motto and that is to have fun while learning. So please feel free to talk to me or approach me if you any questions.
